yoyo,

Ok, so who has seen Robots?

not a bad film, not nearly as good as the Incredibles (which is probably one of the best, if not THE best animation film I have seen to date)

I found the humour a bit stupid and predicatable, and although ppl rave over robin williams char, although it was slightly amusing, I found it rather lame and over the top.

But it was not a bad film, just not all that.

cool scrye, any idea where to get it? *cough* torrents *cough*??

And boogey, these so called "children" films have more adult humour in it than regular films, so althugh maybe the idea and some of the story is made fr kids, they make equally goods adult viewing :)

don't forget... you've become stupid from bashing your head so much that what's left of your brain is highly amused with children's content.....

just a thought ......

Generally, give anything that wins an Oscar a miss.

I love CGI movies, and although Robots wasn't as good as either Incredibles or Shrek (heck, or even Ice Age) it was still entertaining, especially that Britney seen.
Give it a miss on the bigscreen though, a nice boring weekend with the DVD will do just as good.
This is Sharks Tale with Robots. :)

I can't wait for Madagascar though!

its a movie...why would it go to PSP (its not a game btw :P)

i havent heard anything bout the US release, wasnt it pushed back or something?

also, "news on the wire" is that the UK will be getting a final fantasy concert (like the one touring the US atm)

Quote: Gamecentral - Channel 4
Square-Enix has said it is "highly likely" a Final Fantasy concert will be held in the UK.

The 'Dear Friends' tour is currently wending its way around the US, but any appearance in the UK isn't likely before next Summer.

We're not sure what kind of crowds such a concert could attract here, but a recent event in San Francisco managed to sell out in record time.

Ye I know its not a game.....Sony made their own video format Universal Media Disc (UMD) for the portable system. Last i checked at ign FF7:Advent Children was under the psp section.

I want to order some scary horror/thriller DVD's, any suggestions?

[N]Haja
04 Apr 2005, 08:57
I must say, even though it is old, i think one of the best "scary" movies ever was Event horizon. Not for the pure gore factor, but it has some serious evil undertones.

The newer horror films rely far too much on an uber twist at the end (like Saw for example, even though the twist was pretty lame IMHO). So they are not very watchable over and over, cos once you know the twist it becomes a tad boring to watch again (unless you a goldfish with a 3 second memory :)

However, as a side note, a film I would avoid with a berth of about 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 km's is Oceans Twelve. Never has such a crap film been made with such a good cast.

04 Apr 2005, 09:05
Haj, you obviously never watched the Tennenbaums huh? Nothing could be more rubbish with a more star studded cast.

As for Event Horizon! Good heavens yes. That was way back before the cheap thrills of Scream and I know what you did last summer came out. I cracked up when my buddy walked out of the cinema, white as a ghost, and said - It was supposed to be a relaxing Friday.

"The Ring" pretty much scared every ounce of crap imaginable out of me. I see "The Ring 2" is being released soon.

The "Hide & Seek" movie with Robert de Niro and the little girl also had a couple of frightening moments in it, but nothing too severe.

"Fear Dot Com" was also pretty hectic, as regards the imagery.

I think the secret to watching a scary movie is to watch it at night. Watching a scary movie when it is light outside really does nothing for me, but once the wife is asleep, the house is quite, and there is just enough wind outside to make some strange noises, you truly do shit yourself.

Hell, you have to pluck up all your curage to peep out the window or go to the toilet (if you have not soiled your pants from one of the tenser moments allready :P )

On a side note, I found films like the one where the little boy sees dead people (forget the name, with Bruce Willis), very stupid. I mean HTF does someone not know they are dead for a whole month or so.

Ye, I love twists, but c'mon, at least make them slightly beleivable. I mean didn't the toss try and speak to his wife beofre then, or am I missing something obvious (saw it quite sme time ago)

Cataphract
04 Apr 2005, 17:33
WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Haj, bro, HTF are you supposed to "know you're dead"? Have you known when you were unconscious, for example? You cannot be "conscious" of your status if you're "unconscious", and last time I checked, dead people were worse off than unconscious people.

Has anybody had a near-death experience? Maybe they can tell us.

I was once in a room with Eclipse when he farted, that's the closest I've been to near death.

I'm sure if you were to check the US patent database for a "way to know you're dead" device - you'd find something...

I've had many near death experiences in UT -- do they count?

Andre, how do you know you're NOT dead??????? Are you sure you made it through?

[N]Haja

Cata, in the movie, he only reralises he is dead when he trys to talk to his wife. If memory serves me correctly, he thinks he is still alive because he chats to the little boy, who in the end turns out to be able to see dead people, aka, Bruce Willis.
Now, from my understanding, Bruce still thinks he is alive cos he can interact with the boy, but only when he tries to talk to his wife at the end, and she ignores him, does he realise his death.

SO, my question is, in the 1 month it took him (or whatever time frame) to discover this amazing fact, did he not try to interact with anyone else. And did he not find it strange he probably never ate the whole time. And if he did, how did he buy his food etc, if he was dead.

Not being over critical (ok, so I am), but that kinda "twist" sucks ass, as it is not feasable.

Anyhoo, I think it also proves the point that horror movies are not that great to watch again, as once you know the twist, it is a bit of a waste to watch again :P

Define "near-death experience".

I was hit by a car going 80km's a hour, which explains the black scar on my nose (which soooo many ppl try to rub out  ) and the killer scar I got on my right arm above my bicep , afaik I was just crossing the road then I woke up on the road. First thought into my mind was that im not at home. As that was my destination before I unwittingly played "chicken" with a yellow opel corsa.

It was just walking across road -> wakeup with a broken nose. (Skillfully landed on my face after flying for 2 meter's :glasses: )
