Well as this topic has come up before, my appologies for starting a new thread....
Yes, I am smurfing, I'm a regular online UT player, I have become increasingly aware of some of the "amazing" talent on the servers lately, there is no doubt in my mind that we have players in our community that make use of these little programs. Due to the reluctance of admins to add anti tcc mutators to servers, I have taken it upon myself to get an aimbot, which took about 60 seconds on Google.
I consider this an act of desparation, also a valuable educational experience. After playing with this little aimbot for only a short while, it was clear to me that a player could make it seem that he WAS NOT cheating. Contrary to popular belief, the aimbot does not necessarily "track" with the cross hair, this is an option, another is a "wall hack" amoung many others.
My hope is that this is not received with aggression, but rather if you see me on the servers, pop in, and see for yourselves what an aimbot looks like in action.

Firstly, you are basically using hard handed tactics to force community pressure to get the servers upgraded with Anti-TTC. You are indirectly manipulating server admins here!
That is bad form mate...
Secondly, like Thallium mentioned, why experiment on live servers? Are you trying to play in a 'fair' playing field, or are you screwing over 90% of the community that doesn't cheat? I would think the latter...
Lastly, what on earth can you gain by using that bot? You are actually harming your game more than you can think, but I guess the easy way out is better huh?
Strangely enough, the MA server trapped a couple of warez key users, but no word yet on real cheaters. There are actually players that are just that good
I refuse to become upset about this, but it is really bad form. Headshot me then 40 times if that makes you feel all powerfull. I'll be the bloke struggling to hit that 20% aim at the bottom of the scoreboard - proudly practising to improve.
Funny thing is, even with an aimbot he probably won't win. If he can't stay alive it won't help him for shit.
Yes the MA server is a step in the right direction, N1 PP. I was on the other night and had some fantastic games, and didn't experience any lagging problems at all.

This reminds me of an old story from DM-Codex... the douche that made the server enabled cheats or something and he enabled God Mode. This was on LAN, but the dumbass finished 4th. And we were 4. :D
Will definately give it a try PP, this bot has a built in feature that disconnects when the server run a mid game check, From reading the cheating forums, I see that this is not 100% effective, but worth a try.
Since I am letting everyone know that I am using an aimbot for this experiment, I can't understand why the community is getting so upset. My intention is to get Anti-TCC installed on the servers, the only ppl this will affect is the cheaters, I can understand them getting upset! As soon as the servers have the mutator installed I will quit or or I run out of cd keys. I will not join a server where a game is in play, my intention is not to own and spoil everyones fun. You will find me on a server by myself, or I may join as a spectator. I am certain that there are players out there that are just to l337 to be affected by this bot, since aim is only half the skill, but give it a try. Join the server and watch in 3rd person, if for no other reason, than just to see what it's about.

Not really, but unless you have 2 machines logged on to UZA at the same time (which I reckon is pretty slim), the active members list sorta gives it away.

I consider this an act of desparation, also a valuable educational experience. After playing with this little virus for only a short while, it was clear to me that a user could make it seem that he WAS NOT causing it. Contrary to popular belief, this virus does not necessarily "use email" to influence the network, this is an option, another is a "tunneling" amoung many others.
My hope is that this is not received with aggression, but rather if you see me on the servers, pop in, and see for yourselves what maliciously induced lag looks like in action.

Don't know who tyou are and I don't really care, I've been asking for a anti-cheat server for God knows how long and I want it more to kick the pirates that stole the game more than the cheaters using hacks and aimbots......
BTW.... allot of you guys use custom crosshairs packs.... did you know if it's not official its considered a cheat?.....
Let nme know when your online I'd like to have a look because in all honestly SA must have the best LG players in the world and being headshot 7-10 times every game is absolutly crazy if you ask me!

You're normally playing when I play Hellboy, and I never see that many Headshot kill strings...
Now see Hellboy this is what's wrong with this thread. There are indeed ppl out there who are capable of doing this, without cheating. A thread like this just makes those players look bad and that is wrong.
The admins should put the software on and not tell anyone about it. Catch everyone useing cheat software without them knowing they are being watched.
***Sniff*** thanks Seafood, thats the response I was hoping for. Headshots are so easy, as are body shots. Note the wall hack, with this bot, one can clearly see skins, weapons and shots!

There, the MA server is secure, I have removed the name of the bot to prevent ppl looking for it :) Now Admins please install Anti-TCC on your servers.
P.S. If you feel that I am going about this the wrong way, please advise, and give your recommendations?

T agreed but we know who most of those players are and we recognize their play style very easily, Mudd and Stu come to mind as good LG players but even if they smurf we mostly know its them......
Here's an idea, genius. Why don't you organise your own server with anti cheat, and stop trying to force the issue?

I must say, monitoring the svr with Anti Tcc installed did not seem to have any performance penalty what so ever. Actually, we (pp and me) suspect that the server side demo rec gave us the packetloss that we experienced in the beginning... Anti tcc seems to be installed as a standard across the international svrs.
Its out there, use it.

It is however clear that some ppl just have unbelievably good aim. (as seen on ma with antitcc)

I tested anticc last year around November at a Local LAN, and everybody complained about LAG. I will test it again at the next helix LAN, but until I am 100% sure it will not degrade the current gaming experience, I am hesitant to add it to the servers.
And no, I will not tell you beforehand when it is on the servers.
Well the big yellow lettering everywhere is a dead giveaway anyway.... You know when you're being scanned.

I really don’t understand what the point is of using an aimbot, what does it prove, that you are a good cheater? Now I understand where Aimbot is coming from, even though the method of approach was wrong, but it does bring serious question to how badly this can affect the servers now that people are aware of it. Curiosity did kill the cat.
The question we should be asking right now and not crying over spilt milk is where do we go from this? Do we put an Anti-cheat mod on, I for one say no as I can see it just killing the game as players will be kicked for no reason or they have a certain skin installed. I personally rather just spot a cheater and call them out. To police the servers using anti-cheat in such a manner is retarded. I think playing CTF, Arena and any other mod till now has not been spoilt through any visible prominent cheaters and personally I would not want to change something that works. I think what has been done now has caused more damage than good, as mistrust is going brew up now on a huge scale. I don’t think we are a big enough community to worry about cheaters to be honest and frankly cannot think of any instance of a cheater.
I really think this should be left to slide.

I thought this was kind of interesting. But, the "everyone cheats" approach was kind of lame and it sounds like it is coming from someone who is getting owned :P (Just a hunch)
Either way, I must agree with Nautilian "not to cry over spilt milk". Certainly the approach was awkward, yet it was effective. I don't really care if you put Anti CC on or not as long as does not lag the game. But it is an issue 'we' have to deal with now since it has been raised.

Probably due to the inability to aim myself at the moment :P Thus, I am highly interested in who you consider to be a possible cheater ?! Well being possibly the worst player on the servers , i would not know if someone is using a aimbot / wall hack or the likes , so i would not mind having a anti-cheat of some sorts on the servers , at least then i would be happy that i suck , and not that on the off chance i just suck coz someone is using said programs... But then again in the 2 or 3 monts of playing i can honestly say i have had not even thought that anyone was cheating ..... even when i lost a 1vs1 -5 to 25.... (hey i did say i was the worst player probably.....)

It doesnt look like he wants to cheat, he wants TCC put on the damn servers.
I played with it on the MA server, and it really doesnt cause too much lag asside from the startup checks - which everyone incurr, much more fair than cheaters.

I really cannot see any harm in installing Anti-TCC. Those vehemently opposed to it, I think it is fair for you to state your reasons. The lag issue has pretty much been dissolved.
Belg, I am not for or against it (just for the record), but what I am against is ANTI-TTC kicking players for things other than aimbots and wallhacks.
What I am against is people downloading aimbots to strong arm the issue
What I am against is that ANTI-TTC and Aimbots are like virus programmes definitions and malicious code, you'll need to keep it current.
Now the entire UZA are well aware that aimbots works perfectly well on the normal servers, that aimbots are a 60 second google away and that everyone will be more suspicious than ever with Anti-TTC loaded or not.

Fair enough, Gamos. You've stated your reasons well. I too have a nonchalant issue towards Anti-TCC, but the truth remains that it is a contentious issue and now suspicion is going to flare to new heights. I hope that this can be properly resolved.
Oh heck, I am already so damn paranoid by nature. This has certainly not helped my condition.

Its not him, trust me. Doesnt really matter now does it?? Fact is, we need AntiTCC on all the servers to end this discussion and prevent future accusations. Most people want this on the servers. AntiTCC has been proven (lol) to be relliable on the MA server with every night 16-18 people playing on the server. I see no technical reason why the antitcc should not be on all public servers (as is in 99.9% of overseas servers).

Let me just ask; How would you feel if you found out that a player that you've had a lot of respect for, based on his skill and game play, is discovered to have cheated? It's obvious how you (and the rest of the community) will respond. We really dont need another "Neo-gate (ok this was not cheating, but there was dishonestly involved)" or "Spines" incident, lets just put the mut on the servers and play in peace.

There are great players on the servers, but without question there are cheaters aswell. But even when there aren't any cheaters on the servers I'll continue screaming "f**kin cheater" at my screen everytime someone gets a good kill against me :p . So it is obviously my skill that stops me from winning a game, and not the fact that 0.0001% of the players cheat.
Maybe 1 in 50 games you lose, are cos the dude is cheating, the other 49 are beacuse he out aims you, out moves you and out smarts you. So best get back on them servers and learn to do the same to him, as no Anti-TCC is gnna make you own the top players in SA.
Not meant as a flame, just trying to put it into perspective. I really do not think it is as big a problem as we think. And rember, the lag on the server also makes some things appear differently to what is really happening.

I must say that i agree after playing against you with the cheat enabled. shots like that are impossible. you would never know which direction i was coming from yet HEADSHOT.
I think it should be placed on the server, my only concern is the guys that are not using origianl CD keys. We played a game recently and the anti - Tcc would not let guys with incorrect CD keys play.

well here my answer, yes I have a very good life, that doesnt revolve "only" around UT, I flame for fun and for necessity.
You on the other hand, dont seem to have any life worth living because it constantly revolves around UT that you now need to resort to an aimbot, to try and make your lonely little bit of time you get on the servers worthwhile.

Gunny, I haven't seen anything on the SGS Servers' interface that allows you to turn a CD key check on or off. I reckon it goes hand in hand with the uplink to the Epic master server. If you elect to establish the uplink, the Epic master server will probably validate CD keys. I'm not 100% sure how it works. I think Anti-TCC can check CD keys independently. The only thing you can do on the SGS servers is to elect to ignore UTAN bans.

Plato, they have to replace it then as soon as stock is available.
Atari goes to great lengths to ensure all product packages are complete. To get a replacement, take your product (and receipt) back to the store you purchased it from for an exchange.
Not being able to find a game is no excuse to pirate it, get a legal copy or get off the servers.
I must say, it warms my heart to see the strong stance against piracy. I see take2 advertise the 'Best of Ut2004 DVD' for R181, scheduled for September release.

If any of you were wondering what kind of checks it does on the server here is a small overview on this website http://dlx.gamespot.com/pc/ut2004/moreinfo_6092591.html !!!! I wud have to agree that it cud have a huge impact on alot of people not playing on the servers
due to it checking for alot of mods that some of us might have done to our characters or even game playing ways!!:(
As far as I know UTSecure has been part of the official patches for ages now.
It doesn't really try to detect hacks or anything, as far as I remember it just has like an internal list of known hacks and exploits it checks for.

Did anyone notice that with the implementation of AntiTcc on the SGS servers, certain "l337" players became scarce, no doubt practicing offline to bring up there game.
Last night I spectated a match with a player that recently returned to UT, and noticed the tell-tale signs of a "wall Hack", ie: a shock ball detonated as his opponent rounds a corner, having spawned and laying ambush without having seen the ware bouts of his opponent, etc etc etc!
Confused, yes, WTF!!! How is this possible? Back to Google, there are bots that are not detectable by AntiTcc. Some simple without many features, and other "private" bots that can be purchased for around 50 Euro.
It's a sad state of affairs when a guy feels the need to spend money to cheat. I appeal to you, cease and desist, play an honest game man!

Note that enhanced netcode may also give you the impression that your opponent is cheating (like shrimp said before utc1.6 was installed :P). While I do agree that getting 'hit' around a corner is kind of unfair, you must remember that he did hit you split seconds earlier (client side) with real skill, only the damage gets deducted with delay. If (like in Counter Strike) the projectiles where invisible, you wouldnt even notice the difference.
Of course this is only really making a difference with pings over 80.
I am only telling you all this cos when i joined sgs from overseas and whip (some of) you :P you say i cheat and thats how rumours start. Funny how it was no problem thou playing to the USA (getting the same ping) or any other country, they dont whine.
But its stupid with lag maybe thats why some 'cheaters' disappeared.
(Thou I doubt that I am the person Aimbot is accusing of cheating..)
Oh yea, and i think most shockball kills you get by predicting your enemy, I mean, who runs into shockcombos he can see? Obviously a skilled player will either surprise (the noobs) with it or trap a skilled oppnent and thus get him.
Upload demo's, people just wont believe you without proof, its sad and easier for cheaters that way, but I guess not even 1 out 20 people accused of cheating really do.

Haha, just laughable. The reason no "1337" players play anymore is most likely because the game is dying ? Whenever I join the SGS Deathmatch server, the lame Arena Mod is running. It was fun in the beginning, but enough is enough. I don't even bother playing anymore because of that mod and the 500 new noobs on the server loading 3 rockets or spamming shock rifle because they spawn with it.
