I'm hearing about it these days, and people say that its a good alternative to WOW.
How do I get it? Can someone shed some light on the game and what its all about?
How does it differ from WOW?
Any servers in SA for it?

u only pay for the game, no monthly subscription. its not available locally (nor any servers) if you want the game, you can download it from the official Guild Wars website (http://www.guildwars.com) and then purchase a key seperately from them.
for gameplay tips, i think the best person is to ask our own local Guild Wars player, Jingo :) since all i can do is tell you what i;ve read about it & its gameplay system :)
Hmm. Let me tell you, the thing that makes this game are the skills and PvP element. There is a storyline, filled with quests and mission modes (Which are really fun), but at the end of the day you're creating a character that wields his/her awesome might in the arena!
*Cue Mortal Kombat theme*
There are no races in GW, only Humans. However, this does not subtract from the aesthetic ways in which you can customise your character. You get a wide variety of dyes (You can mix and match to create new colours), and each class in the game has its own unique appearance. As for play customisation, the game offers over 450 skills, some of which are 'Elite' skills only capturable off boss monsters. Even if someone plays the same class combo as you, chances are your skills, and thus character, will be completely different.
The world is perhaps one of the most beautiful out there, the creatures and enviroments enforcing the enjoyable play dynamic of the game.
What I enjoy most about Guild Wars:
- You can play it fine over a 56k modem.
- You won't ever be out there on an endless creep-hacking rampage to advance your character. This game isn't about levels, it's about choice and use of skills.
- You don't have to pay per month.
- It has arenas in it!
- Great replayability.
I have yet to talk to anyone who bought the game and regretted it.
Uh, yes, thank you Jeremy.
*Turns to the audience*
What a wonderful story, compelling, and rich.

Rofl! I think they're both good games. Find a way to play both and discover which suits your tastes. :p
