Been looking forward to see what this game would be like, only tried it for 5 minutes running around and stuff looks cool, movement like nothing i've tried b4.

A while back they said it was sposed to be perfectly balanced, weapon wise. Might be a nice filler till quake4 for me, try it.

Its free, multiplayer only but no local dl or server yet tho :(

Ye i agree with the weapons, they are kinda bleh, but the emovement allows for easy adaption for both ut and q3 players, oh and those ppl that play that <insert 2 witty words strating with c and s> game.

How about a local sevrer? any1 got any strings they can pull?

Yes, but most of the guys competing play at gfx settings that makes UT2004 look like q1. So dont worry you are not missing out  So much for 2004....

Well, for one thing, the rocket is slower than a Quake 2 rocket... :( Movement, as Zero-1 mentioned is strange. Still wanna try it out mp sometime.

Oh and yeah, rocket jumping is way too powerful, like being on quad! :P

<A>BioGizzard
03 Jun 2005, 07:51
then u should try granade jumping with that quad like thing
the only thing weird about the movement for me is the tilting
when strafing, strafe jumping is also new to me

Quake noob asks : Whats a strafe jump?

Its this gay thing you do when trying to do something other than a normal jump.

If you are refering to the above map as a q1dm6 look a like, its not.
This is quake 1 dm6

Never saw he was reffering to the screenie, only noticed q1dm6 in the maplist. Its like the only quake1 map i know :S The one in the screenie is a quake1 map?!

Fact of the day: Strafe jumping was originally a bug in the quake engine, which turned out to be the most popular type of movement in FPS history.

Jon

<A>BioGizzard
06 Jun 2005, 10:54
does that bug have anything to do with the way we move in ut?
u know like it might have sparked the idea for it being popular and all...
