From Tweakers.net. The Afrikaans people should manage the Dutch. Tough for the Rooinekke!

And then when you go out and buy it, it doesnt feel 50% faster but rather 10% faster and then you tell yourself its like 150% faster and that R29598709489 wasnt a waste of money.

Besides its the "Latest and Greatest" thing out now.

Honestly can anyone say when they upgraded from one card to another they felt a massive, terrific, incredible speed increase?

When I moved from the Geforce4ti to a Geforce 6600GT I only felt the difference

How many more FPS?

Felt or saw is like an emotion. Is there a vast increase in 3D points? Figures needed guys not "Feel or saw" :p And going from like a TNT2/MX440 -> to a X850 or what ever doesnt count. Im coming from a 9600 Pro to a X700 pro.

Oh btw, Seeing as most of you didnt read the dutch. They were comparing its spec and stuff to the 6800 GT, and over the GT its 50% faster, apparently. I dont think we all on the same page.

ArcAngel, they're comparing it to the 6800 Ultra, no the GT. Check again.

Correct Karnaugh, but there is a difference between Rooinekke (British infantry sent to SA in the late 1890's) and Red Necks (the Hicks in the States). The Afrikaners are the local equivalent of the latter.

I went from an MX440 to a FX5200 to a FX5700 to my current FX5900XT. Theres a moerse diff between an MX440 and a 5900XT, but from, say a MX440 to a FX5200(which I only had for like 2 days :P)theres very little, and from the FX5200 to a FX5700 isn't THAT much either. I stilll think the main reason why ppl upgrade isnt so their games run faster, but so they can compete with benchmark points. I think thats the gayest, lamest thing in the world, but hey, we all can have opinions. I only upgrade when Im not happy with the latest UT installment running smoothly :D

For me felt is sort of emotional. It seems faster, but you can't place it.
When I say I saw the difference I mean games looked different (shaders, pixel lighting etc...)

speak for yourself... I'm a bonehead and gunny a clutch plate

P.S. What's the point of getting a uber fast Nvidia that has no image quality?

Clutch plates rule . Nvidia are still trying to get a single slot GPU to perform like an ATI.

And it wont happen anytime soon though either, now that they have convinced people about the "wonders of sli"
