yO YO

I was just pondering. Is/are there people in capetown that would like to get together to host a UT competion via lan. I can arrange sponsorships , all we need is the support of the players?

It can be held over one full day so as not not overkill it. There could be prizes and food and beer. I was thinking somewhere central, like the southersuburbs.

Of course there would have to be a nominal entrance fee to cover the venue costs( unless we can get a free one)

Im thinking , how about a 50 man lan? Also we could host one other competition at the same time. Im am guessing ti would be Call of Duty united Offensive( awesome game).

if anyone is interested in this or can offer anything that great.

Unfortunatley the ut2004 community in ct is very personal. Meaning that they have their little Lan's and if you havent been part of their cround for the last 10 years it's unlikely to unite them. You can post it on Langames, but the turnout will be low unless you can get the word out, and then 99% complete fucktards will probably pitch.

Your best bet is to try find as many ut players as you can get, once you start changing the Lan to 'Any Game' status before you know it cs:s will, like the bacterial virus it is, completley take over.

However if you can organise it, myself and +-10 other active ut players I know will come check it out.

Theres a slim possibility that if I can make it, I cud manage to drag acuppla fellers along, so there ARE ppl out there!

ill make it for sure if it's after mid June, comp will be awesome
lan for ut and quake players will be a good idea since most of them don't care that much to switch back and forth between the games, and there are some local guys that will hopefully pitch (sec 8, q6 that do play both games)

Great elco- good news, seems like we have quite a number of willing paticipants, ive recieved quite alot of pm'z since i posted this and it seems like it could happen. Im going to start a UT roster for willing and keen peeps to place their name down so we can judge the amount of people we must cater for...
