On behalf of durban ppl, let me resurrect the idea to have a Lan for the ut players of durban. I am not a lan goer myself, and that is in fact the main reason why I started online ut when i got dsl, I never lan'ed and wanted to play ut that way.
So now boys, follow the suggestions of this thread

What do you reckon fellas, considering someone like Z1 is willing to make the MISSION to come up here for it....
Lets make this happen.
P.S I am clueless of lan organisation, so I will lend a hand but would mess up any major arrangements.

Dude i am in ? If we can get this off the ground. My last attempt to find a Venue failed badley. I was thinking that we could all get together at the next l33t Lan that takes place at Gme City down in Durbs ???? No organising on our parts :) just pitch and play :)

Gonna try and find out when the next one is . Will post shortley.

MMM, all I can find is this other wise it up to us ;)

But as for venues, any belong or have access to a church, and I am thinking youth halls...??

@g5, no idea where to get a venue, my guess would be to try a school hall, or an church. Maybe some1's garage? Mine got 2 old cars in it atm, so not really possible :(

Equipment, I have my own pc and a few x-ove cables, but no hubs etc:(

Besides its only once in awhile. Checked today about parking, Safe and secure :)
Only Hassle is we have to pay for the electricity used, got no idea about how much that will be.
Anybody have an Idea. And Equip. please help? Someone with networking experience ?

I honestly am clueless on the equipment needed for a lan. I have only been to one before, and I think we had a spare pc running a server with a nice buig 16 port hub, and lots of cables and plugs.

Scally I need you to talk to yr mate with that 16 port, my connection fell through, I only have a 8-port and about 6 cables.

K so I was hoping to speak to the oke tonight, I have 1 lan cable, and a cross over.

But if Karn is kindly offering some stuff, that would b great. (always welcome to come unless of course it is not ur thing/style). So between me and G5, (the network noobs) maby you could advise or help or something.

alright, the guy with the 16 port switch is coming, and bringing it, so ye that much is sorted. if every one can bring their own cables for lan and power etc etc should be not be to many hassels

K this lan still on? Maybe a confirm list.

Also is parking in a secure lot with gates etc? Sydney Rd has become quite dodgey as of late (my Dad's business is in Sydney Rd so i know). Don't wanna be seen lugging a mother sized tower and monitor on the street, pretty much a walking target.

Network equipment might be sorted, but are there tables and chairs? lol

Anyways won't be there for long, maybe a few hrs.
