Well everyone was raving on about Firefox's addons and all that.

If you click 'tools'/ manage addons' - you'll see that Microsoft have also been busy with addons for thier latest browser.

http://www.ieaddons.com/default.aspx?cid=home&scid=0 is the link to the addons home page..

Quite funnily enough they also even have flashgot addons for downloading, amongst a host of others....

I'm going to give IE7 a proper bash now, with addons - because I am simply getting gatvol of FF2 with it's continual errors.

Peace, will let you all know how it works out, who knows might come running back to FF before I know it, but let's see :D

FF and it's continual errors? Care to elaborate on that one? I can't remember ever getting an error with FF...

Some things just don't work - like some login pages don't work with FF (been happening with almost all the versions I've used, and I've used ALOT)

Umm like earlier I was on privateproperty.co.za (which I'm registered on)
Tried to click the 'show sellers contact info' button, and nothing happened.

Tried it a few more times to no avail... that's just a small example of the small errors and issues that are common with FFox.

Sometimes I need to use IE7 to login to certain pages as FF doesn't work.
I mean, I'm not sure if it's the web designers who made those pages not work with FF, or if it's my Java needing updating to make certain javascript apps work correctly..

Well, these errors do occur now and again, not too often for me to totally abandon FF (I still rate FF as the best there is - not one browser is infact 100% perfect)

Well, IE is worth a bash - let's see how it pans out.

Peace :D

LOL its amazing how opinions change.
A year or 2 ago, anything that IE and M$ did sucked and then FF was bad, real bad with a zillion errors etc and IE was definently better but everyone voted FF.
At the time FF had about 7% of the market.
Today at last we have some real competion in FF and currently they have a 38% of the market, and many are feeling sorry for M$ and IE, even though M$ are copying FF almost idea for idea etc - strange :)
Jees J1nX, you taking your life in your hands with that avatar :D

You should just get the IE Tab extension for FireFox. It lets you instantly switch a page you are viewing from FF's rendering engine to IE's, right from within FF. So you can use a decent browser, and just switch to IE's crappy renderer when you need to view a broken IE-only page.

I think pretty much all web developers should use it too, as it saves you needing to reload different browsers and stuff all the time.

I have that already and use it thanks.

Just interested in giving IE7 a proper run to see what exactly makes FF the better browser.

You were correct in saying that the designers did not make it work for FF. It's just easier to go the non-standard MS route than to code the W3C way.

Thanks, that was my suspicion. So that's why I thought I would give IE7 a try since 99.9% of websites should work with it.

Although the view page in IE tab in Firefox, has been a big help in alleviating this problem, as Shrimp mentioned.
