I think it should be pretty cut and dry as to how to not act like a fucktard on the UT servers.

Why then, do we get idiots stacking the teams in the wrong fashion? By all means, join the TDM. But don't join the winning team when the teams are three vs three. There's nothing worse than being on the smaller team in a game of 4 vs 3 when the other team was already winning when it was 3 vs 3.

And when I serve to point out that you're being an imbecile, it would be nice to not get lip either.

The person I'm talking about knows who he is.

You know what BSK? Ninety percent of the problems this community has would dissapear with propper mods. Wasn't auto-balancing introduced in the 90's somewhere? Wasn't swearfilters introduced with CnC already? Wasn't kick-voting part of Quake2?

Unfotunately you can't expect courtesy out of anyone. You need to treat the whole lot like imbeciles (including myself) and have mods to force behaviour.

My 2c.

Probably, Gamos. It's really rather sad.

It's sad that an audience of gamers who deem themselves to have the maturity of that of a seventeen year old, or older, need to be treated like that, but I guess that's the way it is.

Oh my gawd . . another newb diss.

We know who you are, where you live and what you eat, beware.

A newb diss? Where did I mention newbs? And I don't believe I dissed anyone either. Are you posting in the right thread?

I'm going to make myself a hypocrite <watch closely>

A great deal of these threads, reach a stable point somewhere within the first 10 posts. That means that no new information is likely to enter the thread and that all the relevent points that need to have been made, have been made.

Anyone posting after this point of stability is either
1) reiterating what has already been said;
2) looking for attention/trouble/recognition

It seems to me that 'new' people often harp on about "the fun of the game."
'Old' people lament about how people cannot play for "the fun of the game."

And non-regulars butt in to insight rage amongst all.

I can point to one thread that was a genuine debate of quite a touchy subject and it was handled with mutual respect and insight, so I know that this community is capable of it.

I`m not going to ask that things change {because it is no use, this behaviour is cyclic}

I`m not going to complain about how helpless the situation is {because I don't want to be pessimistic}

I have added nothing new here <hence the reason for hypocricy>

;)

Yeah well thats me I was the unlucky person that spawned in the wrong team at the wrong time! so shoot me! however I did not even stay longer than 1 minutes and had to leave because of my horrible ping.

If the teams where so unbalanced why didn't one of the stronger members move over to the battling team? huh? why? And you call this thread courtesy! lol! go and look it up.

Wrote a saga about your shity experience on the servers but in fact it would be wiser to stop bitching about little things and change within yourself.

Here is a tip: next time when the teams are unbalanced, YOU MOVE THE FUCK OVER! MMMMK!

But I get it you are a hot head and believe that you are superior to the other players and that makes you believe that you have the right to tell other players what to do, well not me so get a life!

Here's the problem: a three vs three may be relatively unbalanced, but simply moving a player over creates a four vs two, which is decidedly unbalanced.

I sympathise with the problem of auto-join plus ignorance of the game situation - I do think people are accused of malice when they're simply blind. But once you've been informed of the situation, there's no reason to persist in it. Ie, you could always just switch if people ask you to. Yes, another player from the team of four could join the team of three instead of you, but there's more obligation on your side, you being the most recent joinee.

Because, Mr Smarty Pants, the server will not let you switch teams if it will throw the player numbers out of balance.

O.K i can relate to Karnaugh and BSK and thanks for your informative posts.

The problem here is going to be an big issue when 2007 brings a new bread of newbies.

Look my point is I joined and did not immediately realized that the teams where unbalanced because I was testing to see if my ping was better so that I can play a game or two. So with out making a move I was asked to change which is really not a big deal. I have been playing for about 8 months now and I try accommodate the other players as often as I can.

So last night I was obviously pissed because of my low ping and that I could not play a single game and impolitely told Mburr to go fuck himself. I admit that was wrong of me and for that I apologize.

But when I see that the teams are unbalanced I usually move over without interrupting another players game and often loose my adrenaline. But why boss unadvanced players around?

I appreciate that, and I'm not trying to be malicious or an asshole of any sort. I asked you to go over because our team at that stage in time was controlling DD and super, and was in the lead. For what it's worth, I would've asked anyone else to do the same, or done the same had I just joined.

What I do however feel was unvalidated was the abusive language you directed at me, when I was merely pointing out the obvious. I'm not out to stuff up your experience, I'm out to make others' experiences more pleasant.

I appreciate your apology, and likewise apologise for misconstruing your intentions. My intention wasn't to boss anyone around. I was highlighting a fact that I wasn't sure you were aware of.

That is true Basilisk. But the guy did leave, abeit due to his bad ping, and I am sure he would have even if he had good ping.

Thing that stumps me is, why does Mburr make all this fuss over something so minuscule? Eh, afaics someone got hot headed to quickly, and retorted (probably by calling him an imbecile - and got a mouthful in return :D )

Moral of the story, respect your fellow gamers, no matter how much they fuck up, especially when it's not on purpose.

I don't believe you have any stake in this debate whatsoever, but I'd suggest that if you care to partake, understand what I did and didn't do.

What I did was ask him to move over in what I considered a respectable fashion because I was in the middle of a game.

What I didn't do was instigate the taunts that followed.

I then got told, "F U 2", which, to be perfectly honest, would elicit a response from me irrespective of who said it. I don't play the "LOLZ MY GAYMING SKILLZ ARE TEH BETT0R!@$@" card. I play the "Show some common courtesy" card.

I think I speak for most people here when I say I don't believe I know of many people who consider me the type to instigate anything. I do however continue things that were instigated by others.

Furthermore, your construing anything said in here to relate to "newb(s)" is so far off the mark it's not funny. Not once did I act like a classist facist.

Have to say I played a couple of matches last night, lost all unforunatly:( but we actually played one match with balanced teams and even though we lost it was a helluva lot more fun than any other matches I have played in a long time. Balanced teams actually makes the game enjoyable.

Was also good to see some of the Retro players on the server again.

...oh and the DD is noob and "controling" the DD is even more noob :D

lol

thats the idea sneaky! balanced teams makes it fun for everyone - pwning a n00b team to tears is good for a few laughs but I am sure it gets old quite soon ... thats why you have good players like bsk and mburr shouting for balanced teams ... its funner for them too!!!
