Firmware upgrades for ADSL Router

Yo,

I have a telkom router (yes, I know it is probably the spawn of Satan, but its the one i got, mmmkay)
Now, I was poking around the router setup and stumbled upon an automatic update for firmware. Is there any advantage in updating it, or should I just leave it, seeing as though it is working? Maybe updating it would make it work better? (yup, hopeful thinking I know)

but how do you know something isn't broken until you try and see if you can fix it? Maybe I am running slowly, and a firmware upgrade will lower my ping by 20ms!!!!! :)

Find out what the firmware upgrade does then decide. If you are not sure do not do it. If it fixes some security loop then it's ok. hehe
