Hi

Ok, this is messed. Ive been playing guildwars for the past couple of weeks and my connection is fine playing that. Last week I only had to reconnect twice.

However, If I play UT for about 1 hour, my line WILL WITHOUT FAIL lag, then drop. It happens time and time again.

Downloading is fine, surfing is fine, GuildWars is fine, its only UT that causes my line to drop.

Netspeed = 3500, Ill try lower my netspeed and see if thats the problem.

Any other ideas ?

Thanks

ok, Ill take the no replies as your way of saying: "WTF is a modem and who is .56K?"

What is a Modem:

A modem converts all the incoming analog signals on your telephone line to digital which is how your PC works. It also converts digital data from your PC to analog before sending it out on the phone line.

MOdulator/DEModulator

Who is .56K:

Umm, its the theoritical speed at which the modem can operate, but its highly dependent on the quality of the phone line etc.. etc..

or something like that :P

---------------

So back to my original problem now that you know Who and What modem is :P

any ideas ?

Zyron,

What do you pay for 56K currently. It is about R90 rental without calls, but what is your total bill including ISP?

ADSL 192K rental = R270
Analogue rental = R90
ISP = ~R250

I would really recommend any 56K or ISDN user to switch to ADSL if money allows. There is only so much you can problem solve with 56K. :p

Convert to ADSL. For the following reasons:

1) LOL
2) Faster
3) ROFL
4) Faster

Zyron, it's not that expensive mate honestly it's not. Contrary to popular belief it's also pretty stable.
