Sound Hardware.

Hey ppl. I want to get some goodish medium range speakers and sound card to replace my onboard kaka and mini hifi connected to pc.

I have selected these:

Soundcard : The Sound Blaster® Audigy® 2 ZS (http://www.soundblaster.com/products/Audigy2ZS_platinum_pro/)
Speakers : Logitech Z-5300 5.1 Speaker System (http://www.sybaritic.co.za/store/product_info.php?cPath=125_117&products_id=1239&osCsid=0366d25128eee9318be5f6aebda6155d)

The 5300 support THX but not DTS. The Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Digital Speaker System (http://www.sybaritic.co.za/store/product_info.php?cPath=125_117&products_id=5146&osCsid=0366d25128eee9318be5f6aebda6155d) does support DTS but I don't wanna (mainly cuz i CANT!) spend more than half just for DTS.
I'll be using the sound card and speakers for games, DVD and music.

Any tips or advice?

mmm, the speakers look sweet, but I suppose to get a true review you need to know some1 that has some, or at least read reviews.

I know those s/c rock, been looking at gettting myself 1 actually :)

I have read some reviews and 99% deem them very worthy. Unfortunately I don't know anyone that owns a set.

The sound card rocks, i've been using it for the past year n a half

With regards to the speakers, they r brilliant for pc gaming and music, especially the sub, however they say the treble rises a bit too much in comparison with the bass when u really start cranking it up coz the tweeters r built into the mids. But if ur heavy into DVDs and if u wanna connect a gaming console or seperate DVD player to ur speakers then i suggest u save up for the 5500s

I heard those Logitech speakers being demonstrated at a shop. OMG! They ROCK! Unfortunately I dont know if it was the 5300 or the 5500's. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Got the card and the older model of the 5500 also with DTS the Z-680's actually exact same speakers but older design, maybe try and get prices on those if you can still find them.

AWSOME sound btw 500W's of it, blasts my SONY home theatre that cost twice as much out of the water.
