Got Trackmania Sunrise and yeah, it is great! Great pacing for ESCW and competitive gaming IMO!
Are there local servers for online play?

This game is terrible. How can they call it a racing game? Where is the racing? You're driving around a track with holes in it that doesn't look like its been made by someone that has ever driven a car or knows how to race one.

just play it a bit.. from the beginning - it takes a bit of getting used to but its got to be the best/most fun racing game ive ever played...if u like competition. :)

Think Stunt4d of yonks ago with new graphics, not TOCA.
Spent more hours with it over the last few days than should be legal ;). NOT a "racing" game, it's more a race against the clock and against 20 other people's clocks to get the best time around some pretty psychotic tracks.
And yes, I have a dedicated server running 24/7, seems to work great and you CAN earn points on the global ladder on it. Should show up on your "Suggested servers" list when you choose "Internet" from the main menu.

well from the screenies and crap i didn't think it was going to be a cool game.
After listening to u'z ranting about it, i got it.
man i must say it's really fun.
how do you chat in the friggen thing?
default chat key is space but if you go to your profile you can change all your keys :)
Advanced settings.
Must say its pretty cool I still finish ded last at the moment my only goal is to try and finnish the tracks which are pretty insane. 6.5 out of 10

Had a look at the screen shots will get it downloaded and who knows this weekend could meet you guys on shrimps server and have a joll I will c and get Pox onto this as well how many ppl can race at 1 time and how is the handeling of the car does it have an arcade feel or is it pretty realistic.

Since you spend most of the race flying through the air, driving upside down or something, I'd have to class it as arcade :P.
I have a player limit of 20 at the moment since I'm not quite on a 100mbit pipe yet, but I've seen some servers overseas with 64 or more :).

damn you JiGo, damn you to hell... i can't stop playing this friggen game...
you know you get bronze, silver, gold on a track, but theres a time you can beat after the gold, it's nadeo's time.. anybody done this yet?? iv'e done it on 2 tracks so far...

ye ive beaten quite alot of nadeos times... pretty hard to do on most of the tracks...
I still go flying off the track mostly :P
Keep an eye on the tips section it says usefull things :D

Sa slowly but surely climbing the ranks! Real excellent game!
If you guys enjoy this, you should really look into getting Trackmania Sunrise. More tracks, more types of cars, and championships. It is still you vs. clock, but sorta single player.

what i really dig about this game is the quick stike on the enter key and your off again immediatly...

Well, the first I ever heard of it was a video on the NAG cd some months back, and I promptly downloaded and fell in love with the demo. Take2 has it but I see Trackmania Sunrise "Extreme" is out now. Even Incredible stocked it.

Edit: Aaah, I see the "extreme" version is a free download to current Trackmania Sunrise owners. One of the coolest game modes in that version is the puzzle mode, where you get just x ammount of certain blocks, and you have to build a track to get through the checkpoints and finish line within time.

the thing i like about TM nations,that i dont think will be the same as sunrise,is the fact that everyone has the same car... so the only diff is driving skill... :D

Yes Jigo, that is why it makes an excellent ESCW title in my opinion. That and the fact that it is easy to get into, very quick to restart, but hard enough to perfect lap times for months still to come. Heck, I only completed 30% of the tracks I played last night. :)
TM Sunrise is more single player focussed, but also give all competitors per track the same vechicle. You have off-road vechicles, some super fast sports cars and a heap of others, but always the same make per section. They are also ghost competitors and you even have ghost times of your own best laps.

Im doing the SOLO tracks at the moment, trying to get the basics right but im realy starting to enjoy it and im not realy a fan of racing games except for Wipeout.
ye once you know how to take the corners and jumps etc it really becomes a whole lot more fun. :)

For that matter, is there a way to bookmark a server?
didnt see his server all day either..
you shouldnt really need to bookmark, ZA servers will be in suggested list and the server list is really quick to find a server you want...
but not too sure how to do it / if you can do it :P
