View Full Version : Notebook CPU Help
How does the processors of these two notebooks compare:
HP NX9110
Intel Pentium 4 Processor 3.20-GHz, 800-MHz FSB, 512-KB L2 cache with Hyper threading (Desktop Processor)
Vs.
HP NX8220
Intel Pentium M processor 2.00-GHz, 533-MHz FSB, 2-MB L2 cache (Centrino)
ummmm very well.
Centrino is the notebook CPU as far as im concerned. Even though I have never had a 2Gig one yet I can tell you from experiance with previous models that there is no difference in speed between the two, I actualy think the centrino is a bit faster, but yeah potatoe potatoh.
The real differance actually comes in when you start comparing weight and heat between the two. The Centrino is going to run cooler and the laptop is going to be thinner and lighter.
All personal choice at the end of the day but I would go for the new stuff.
Just to add to what sneaky said. The Centrino or Pentium M CPU's are designed to save power, so you will also see an increase in battery life which is a good bonus to the technology.
I must admit the Intel M CPU's are fast, even the Celeron M CPU. Quite impressive.
