Does someone maybe know how to connect a playstation2 to a pc?
I have a TV- tuner card, so I also have the yellow video-in plug and the two audio-in plugs, the same connections like a tv (except if you use scart).

I switch it all on but dont know how to make the picture appear on my monitor. The Program "Home Cinema" with which i watch tv doesnt find "an external dvd player". So basically all i need (i think) is a good program thats finds the ps2, anyone know of one?

dont know how to connect it, but i do know its gonna look real bad on a pc monitor. TV have scanlines and hide jaggies and low res textures realy well. All that shit is gonna appear once you connect to a pc monitor.

are you running it through your TV or just plugging it straight into your PC?

try to find a way of running it through a TV (like on channel AV2 or whatever)

I know DVD players and VCRs work that way

hmm thanks. But the whole point why I want to run it via the video-in jack of the pc is because I dont have a tv (anymore).
But thanx for the suggestions anyway I´ll just keep my eyes open I´m sure it works somehow...

edit: O and mac, are ps2 disks even DVD´s? So I dont know if i want to try to stick it into my dvd drive on the pc, you think I can break something? Then again, an emulator to play ps2 games.. hmm the whole point of a console is the easy handling (on/off) and chilling in a couch with the controller, otherwise I dont see much good in consoles, the graphics are terrible and except for playing arcade games like mortal combat with a buddy I dont see any good in a ps2.

well seeing as DVD roms can read CDs aswell. it shouldnt be a problem...

hell you can even read DVDs with a CD rom (provided you have the right software)

PS2 games come in two forms. A CD version and a DVD Rom Version. Depends of the amount of storage space needed by the game. If you put a PS2 DVD-ROM into your PC DVD-ROM it won't break anything and should read it.

oi man on (tv tuner card) software switch to composite view and take yellow wire of the ps2 and plug it in the tv tuner card's "composite in"

if u wanna use the sound on ur pc to u have to get a plug that converts ur sound of the ps2(rca) to a sterio jack for the pc's audio in unless u r covered there allready

man on (tv tuner card) software switch to composite view

...thanks thats what I want to do but as I said the software I have, PowerCinema, does not seem to have this option, or says it cant find an external dvd player attached?! Its one of those over user-friendly things (like aol) that limits you more than it helps you.
Thats why I asked if you can maybe tell me which software you are using, which allows you to connect the ps2.

But what the problem could be, is that the video-in is not on the tv card, it is on a seperate front panel card (under the cd rom) that also has a headphone, two audio and 2 USB plugs. I dont know if that card is connected to the TV card or if its a card of its own (and i´d have to remove lots of components in the inside to see wether there is wiring between these two cards. This front panel obviously isnt in a pci slot, it just has cables to the motherboard, so I dont even know where to look for the card in the device manager. But it is working, i know that, because the 2 USB plugs on that same card work.
Now, could it be that my tv-card software cant find an external device because it is only searching on the plugged in devices on the tv card? But thats would make no sense since the tv card only has a video-out.
FFS why cant stuff just WORK ...just like that.
Playstation sucks anyway, I just dont want to feel that it was a complete waste of money now that I dont even have the option of using it anymore *sigh*

if ur tv card don't have an input ur probly screwed and if the form card below ur cd-rom didn't come with the tv card it's probly pluged in ur motherboard nd won't work from your tv card

Yeah I got the same one - pinnacal micro, it has all inputs and everything needed to do most audio / video input output rubbish. :D
