Don't know if you guys know of this website:

Trivia: Certain characters in the movie, such as Dr. Carmack and the Dr. Willits are named for members of id Software (John Carmack and Tim Willits, respectively), developers of the series of games the movie is loosely based on.

Part of the trailer shows a marine running around, but the view is exactly like the game First person. Even the movement of the gun and walking was similar to the game. Very freeky.

The first Doom trailer has been around for yonks now. The Rock actually stars as Sarge.

Seeing this new trailer with the first person view, I am even more commited not to see this garbage!

Well - I only saw it for the first time yesterday - and I thought I would let you okes know! I think it looks a bit better than some other game to movies. Might actually have a story line from what I see in the trailer (but obviously not an in depth one)

But oh well - lets see what happens!

well I don't know Daweed - just that the trailer seems to show that they have something of a story going - but perhaps maybe just another "resident evil" simple story line!

Its based on Hell - The storyline has allready been written many times, it just lacks CGI efects

Well the game had no story line, except there be a monster around every corner, and if it's not there it will come from behind, or through a wall.

Stupid game, story etc,etc if ask me....why dont they rather focus their energy on making something along the lines of the "Back Fo the Future" series . . .Drop the Demons and crap in inject the focal point on a fantasy style, with Mind boggling Graphics and effects.
Just my 50 bob,s worth.~.

Well, the first problem is that it is NOT based on Hell, but some genome mapped in the human DNA strand that "create" these monsters. Can anyone say Resident Evil?
And now, the second blow, you actually see the movie in first person mode? Laughable.

Lastly, am I the only one to think the CGI looks like something done in the Doom3 engine? Great for a game, kak for a movie with real people!

I don't think much of the movie will actually be FPS style, it's probably used to just create a bit of excitement, or a more tense feeling now and then.

After seeing the FPS bits I'm looking forward to it more than I was before actually :).
