In a surprise move yesterday Telkom announced that it will abolish all line rental charges on its DSL services as of 1 May 2005. This announcement followed speculation that mounting industry pressure would have encouraged ICASA to force Telkom to drop the line rental portion of its DSL services anyway. </FONT>



Telkom has also announced various new ISP options for its DSL service. These options include per-Meg billing and low cost local Internet access. These new packages will create a more competitive market which should give ISP’s more room to compete regarding price and tailored package offerings

Well I heard they were also bringing out a 1mb option for the download crazy ppl

seems they are also upping the 3gb cap limit to 15gb

Do you think they are talking about the R600 we are paying for the ADSL service from Telkom, or the other portion of the line rental - the 'base' rate Telkom charges everyone (around R80?).

Where's the full article? Might make it a bit clearer...
